25. GEO ANGEL BROWN

Just cracked open this pair today so I thought I’d take some pictures! I think this was the first pair of circle lenses I ever tried, along with some other grey pair that I cannot remember the name of anymore. I remember really liking it, so I got another pair, but its been in storage for the longest time because I went through a bunch of other designs before opening this pair (don’t worry it hasn’t expired).

(My lashes look so… stumpy. Boo. Also please ignore crappy skin that has been photoshopped to hell and back.)

I love the design of the Geo Angel series, and I know a lot of people think it looks really similar to the EOS King Size series, but I feel that the Angel series (or Angel brown, compared to King brown, at least) is less enlarging. Not that that’s a bad thing, its actually good for when I want something slightly more natural (ok because how natural can circle lenses get right), and don’t want to put on a ton of makeup, because I feel like the King browns look kinda weird without the full works (aka falsies) because of their greater enlarging effect, whereas the Angel browns actually look fine even if I only put mascara and liner so it’s a lot more convenient. With that being said, I actually got these in plano so I could wear them with my specs, because when I wear specs I don’t put on falsies because they rub against the lenses which is really uncomfortable, so the Angel browns are perfect! (lol run on sentence)

Honestly though, I feel like these are slightly less comfortable than the EOS series. They do feel a little thicker, but it’s not really a significant drop in comfort level, and they serve their purpose, so I’m still fine with that. I probably will not wear them for as long periods as I do the EOS lenses though.

Quite a few webshops sell the Geo Angel series so a quick google should turn them up.

24. EGOIST A/W 2010

Was browsing Scawaii’s October issue in Kinokuniya the other day (in the not-so-recent past, oops) when I came across the spread for Egoist, and I was totally smitten! If Singapore had autumn this is how I’d want to dress… (okay who am I kidding I want to dress in the Egoist look irregardless of season)

Loving the overknee socks paired with minidresses, everything is monotone but super chic, and flawless makeup and hair as usual. Also the polkadot print tights are such love! I so need to get my hands on this stuff.

23. LIPSTICK ON A PIG

Why hello there!

Fall’s coming, and it’s time to start looking at those gorgeous jewel toned cashmere scarves and classic trench coats. Sadly, we can’t wear any of those in a Singapore. The city is so saturated with water vapour that I’m convinced it’s making all the cactuses cellulose little cells explode and killing all of them. At least, I think that’s what happened to my cactus. Oops.

Anyhow, I’m glad that I can still manage a few of my fall favourites without baking myself alive – and one of them is Red Lipstick. It’s an old adage that every girl should have a red lipstick of her own, and I’m proud to say that now I got my very own! As a treat to myself for my 21st, I got the M.A.C Russian Red Lipstick.

Yay, here we are! Me on the right, Szemin on the left. I think that girls in general try to shy away from bold colours like fire-engine red, but a healthy dose of bright hues now and then is good for the soul. When I first put this lipstick on, (though a little self conscious) I felt like I was unstoppable; the world is my oyster and mine for the taking. Try it today! Put on a new shade and see what a difference it makes

22. FALL TRENDS 2010

Yes, fall trends have been covered to death by every other blog and magazine out there, but this article from Scawaii sums it up so succinctly! Sad to say though, I cannot stand most of the major trends so far apart from the animal prints one which we all know cycles every year anyway. Well, who knows, I might turn into the biggest Nordic print/fur (yeah right fur in Singapore) fanatic come next month.
